The event will largely depend on how many people that you invite and how the atmosphere develops durng the event, the compare will asist with getting the balance right. Based on an average evening with 100+ guests:
How the Tote works, with an expected 100 guests (You pick your types of races)
8 Horse Race @ £1 a bet

If horse 4 wins each tote ticket is worth £93:40 divided by 6 = £15:56 for a £1 bet
If horse 5 wins each tote ticket is worth £93:40 divided by 17 = £5:49 for a £1 bet
With the side bets for Jockey sales at £1 (this can be between £1 - £10**) a bet - £10 was added to the pot from the sponsor the winner recieves £16:00 and £2:00 goes to charity, the bigger the stake the more that goes to charity. Also you monies generated on selling the owners tickets, (remember some people may not be in the room so their winning can be forwarded to them)
Therefore 8 races with around £55:00 raised for charity for each race will gain £440:00 - £500:00 in the evening with also your door money, side bets and raffle money there is the potential to raise around £1000:00 for the event.
Remember its your evening , the more you put in the more you will get out of it.
(** for £10 a jockey and %0% for charity each of the 8 races will payout £50 for the winner and make a further £200 for charity)
Electronic Tote
We utilise a excel spread sheet data base for our tote, we base the % payout for the charity of your choice on 40%, however if you wish to make this higher, say 50% or 55% giving more to charity then the choice is yours.
We can keep a running total, which allows the monies at the end to be easily added up and provide a clear summary of what was paid in, what was paid out to winners and what the charity has made. We can even add the raffle and bar profit monies to provide a grand total.
